From a Basement in Rhode Island to the Pages of British Vogue

Some moments make you stop and look back at the whole road behind you. This is one of them.

Herbs and Mylk is now featured in British Vogue. We're No. 23 in the "Get Ready with Vogue" feature, alongside beauty brands from around the world. I still have to read that sentence twice.

Where it all began

Herbs and Mylk didn't start with a business plan. It started with a mother's worry.

When my son went through his bone marrow transplant, and was extremely sensitive after all of his chemotherapy- everything that touched his skin suddenly mattered. I went looking for gentle, botanical care I could trust, and when I couldn't find what I wanted, I started making it myself.

That work happened in our basement. There were jars of herb-infused oils, handwritten notes, and batch after batch of butters and balms. It was trial and error, often late at night once the house was quiet. I wasn't trying to build a brand. I was trying to care for my child.

What began as an act of love slowly became something more. Friends asked for jars. Then friends of friends. Then people I'd never met.

Growing, one ritual at a time

From that basement, Herbs and Mylk grew into a well known Rhode Island Luxury Botanical Beauty Brand. We're a four-time Best of Rhode Island winner, and every formula still begins the way the first one did: with organic plant butters, herb-infused oils, and ingredients chosen on purpose.

Traditional herbalism, master formulation, and a little luxury. Body care that turns an everyday necessity into a ritual. With our purpose always first- to give back to those who saved our sons life.

Seeing our name in British Vogue

Seeing Herbs and Mylk in British Vogue is an honor I don't take lightly. It's a milestone for this brand, and for every late night and every batch that didn't turn out right. It's also a milestone for every one of you who bought a jar, left a review, or told a friend about us.

The feature describes Herbs and Mylk as elevated botanical body care, made to turn everyday rituals into beautifully considered moments. That's exactly what I set out to create, long before anyone outside our home knew our name. The photograph was taken by the incredibly talented Josh Adam, and I'm so grateful to him for capturing the spirit of what we do.

To our community

This moment belongs to you as much as to me. You believed in a small-batch brand born in a basement before there was any reason to. You made this possible.

We're in a growing space but with the same intention behind every jar. Now our story has traveled a little further than I ever imagined it would.

Thank you for being part of the ritual.

With love and gratitude,
Jeanette
